Den 20 januari 2026 inbjöds FELA att delta i The EU Literacy Coalition, ett intressenätverk som ska stödja en handlingsplan för grundläggande läs- och skrivfärdigheter. The EU Literacy Coalition är en del av Union of Skills, där handlingsplanen för grundläggande läs- och skrivfärdigheter ingår som en viktig del. Syftet med koalitionen är att mobilisera aktörer, samordna åtgärder och stödja genomförandet av handlingsplanens mål. Att förbättra grundläggande färdigheter inom språk-, läs- och skrivlärande kräver ett brett samarbete.
On January 20, 2026 FELA was invited to be part of the EU Literacy Coalition group. The first meeting of the stakeholder expert group was held on January 30, 2026 on Teams. FELA Executive Committee was represented by Marieta Tzvetkova and Ann-Sofie Selin.
The EU Literacy Coalition is part of the Union of Skills, and the Action Plan on Basic Skills is one of the Union of Skills’ flagship policy instruments. The EU Literacy Coalition is the stakeholder network supporting the Action Plan. This coalition is meant to bring together: Member States, education providers, civil society, social partners, researchers, literacy organisations. The purpose of the coalition is to mobilise actors, coordinate actions, and support implementation of the Action Plan’s goals. Improving basic skills requires broad cooperation.
